The Cadence Collective

"As I looked at the rosebush, even amidst the beauty of those roses and the pricks of the thorns: I could not see, nor yet appreciate, the part of the bush that provided the most support of all. The roots.
When we face ourselves, we see the rosebush. When we face history, we discover our roots; and when we discover our roots, we learn the shape of our own story."
About Us
We believe culture is capital, and every interaction within that community is a vital investment in that collective wealth.
The Cadence Collective translates high-level strategy into transformative practice by building trust and designing experiential professional learning for educators. Our vision is to provide a radical roadmap for teacher preparation rooted in civic respect, shared responsibility, and continuous reflection.
Our Values
What we stand for
Trust
Trust is the belief that others will act with honesty, care and responsibility, even when no one is watching. In teaching and learning, trust is essential because it creates a safe space where people can ask questions, make mistakes and grow. In this life, all deep learning depends on trust. It is the bridge that connects knowledge, courage and meaningful change.
Dignity
We all belong, and we all matter as people. Belonging is the baseline that tells each of us, “You are seen, you are valued, you are welcome here.” In learning, belonging is the essential ingredient that creates psychological safety and real connection. When people feel they belong, they can bring their full selves, take risks, ask questions and grow together.
Interdependence
Whether we notice it or not, we are all connected and collectively responsible for the quality of our shared experiences and learning. We each have to own the outcome and the responsibility to change and make teaching and learning radically better than in years past. No matter your role or position, you can have impact, and you are a vital part of the team.
Growth
We have to stop and think about our thinking. We need to make time to pause and examine our understandings, beliefs, and experiences so we can see where we are growing and where we are stuck. This is not only about being a better educator, leader or student, but about becoming a fuller human being. Choosing growth means choosing to live in constant and continuous feedback with yourself, with others and with the world around you.
Reflection is powerful.

“You will be in positions that matter. Positions in which you can decide the nature and quality of other people’s lives. Your errors may be irrevocable. So, when you enter those places of trust, or power, dream a little before you think, so your thoughts, your solutions, your directions, your choices about who lives and who doesn’t, about who flourishes and who doesn’t will be worth the very sacred life you have chosen to live. You are not helpless. You are not heartless. And you have time.”
